Paddle through the channel in the reef. Best on SE-E swell. The town of Sanur is quieter and more traditional than Kuta — a nice alternative base.
Hazards & safety
Reef break through a lagoon — watch for reef heads when walking in at low tide. Reef shoes recommended for the lagoon crossing. Jellyfish occasionally in the lagoon.
